Royan

Royan was historically a stronghold to the Gironde because of its strategic location. During the 19th century, its lovely beaches, coves, and pine forests transformed Royan into an outstanding seaside resort.

A firm favourite with the French with its chic shops and of course sunshine record equal to the south of France

A popular resort located approximatley 20 minutes drive from Mortagne, Royan has many attractions suited for all the family.

Stroll up the main street to find shops, cafes and restaurants. At the top of the main street take a moment to appreciate the views of Royan's marina leading out into the head of the Gironde estuary and across to the Medoc.

Royan's large beach La Grande Conche is perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Royan and it's surrounding area offers plenty of other activities include sailing, sand yachting, kite flying, diving, cycling, horseriding and golf; there are also amusements and rides for children.
